ashleypoole1. How would you describe your daily beauty routine?

I’m pretty simple. First I wash my with Olay Acne Hater Deep Scrub to exfoliate, then I put on my Mary Kay moisturizer for dry skin (which I have used since I was 13), I spray my hair with the Pantene Pro-V Overnight Miracle (I use it before I blow dry not for overnight treatment because it’s slightly oily for styling and it smells amazing!). That’s pretty much it! ¬†Simple girl ūüôā

2. What is your go to makeup look for performances? Do you have any fitness or diet rituals to prepare for each performance?

Red Lips and extra blush! People gotta see you from the cheap seats in the back. I love to make a strong cat eye look as well.

Cardioooooo! I do HiiT, which is High Intensity Interval Training. I sprint on the treadmill uphill for 30 secs on and 30 secs rest at a high speed. It’s really difficult but you burn way more than steady pace running and it also prepares you for the stop and go action on stage. It trains you to breath better. It’s very difficult to dance and sing on stage at the same time. As for my diet when preparing for performances I eat lots of protein! I have 6 meals a day to speed up my metabolism. I have an excellent trainer/ nutritionist named Tyler Best, who designs a meal plan & work out regiment customized to me to make results faster.

39-atlg3. Tell us about your songwriting process, the new projects you are working on, and when we can expect a new album release.

My song writing process is different each time. I’m a very aware person on the energies in the room and I feed off of that. I’m also extremely emotional so depending on the day and my mood is what dictates the tone of the song. I love to talk about real specific experiences and not just generalize and I try to be as authentic as possible and really give my soul and my guts to the world. It’s a lot of fun and you don’t know where the stories going to go and most the time when I’m done with the song I think that I wrote it for someone else and I hear it and it’s really how I’m feeling. So it’s very interesting because songwriting is sort of me figuring out who I am and finding out new aspects about myself I didn’t know. I feel that deep down everybody knows who their true self is and song writing is sort of a way revealing that. It teaches you about who you really are.

4.  Out of all the hair colors you have experimented with, which one is your favorite and what is your natural hair color?

My natural hair color is Brown I believe. My hair is a big deal to me and a lot of fun. I love trying new styles and colors. I can’t say that I have a favorite because each time I get a new hairdo it’s my favorite. My hair is an expression of who I am and I am ever-changing and ever-growing. Experimental. I will say that when I did the short purple I thought it would just be a really fun short moment but I actually really felt like myself and I didn’t get to keep it that long because my hair was ruined and I had to go dark, so that was kind of a bummer.

032012MSMO0475. ¬†Have you ever had any red carpet fashion or beauty looks that you’ve regretted?

Ummm ya. I think the question is do I have any red carpet fashion looks that I don’t regret. It was all pretty bad in Dream but we didn’t give a crap because we were kids having fun. The problem with me is I’m extremely experimental and open-minded but what I actually like wearing a super simple like jeans and a white T-shirt. I would personally love to go to any event in jeans and a white T-shirt LOL.

6. Have you ever taken voice/singing lessons? How do you preserve your voice? Do you do scales and vocal warm ups before recording and performances?

I had never had any vocal lessons until dream and after that I have continued throughout the years with different vocal coaches and yes I do do scales in warm-ups before performances or recording. Your voice is a muscle so you must exercise it to keep it in shape and growing.

7. What are your must have beauty products for the summer?

Sunscreen 30 spf & cheery Chapstick. Straight up homie.

8. How do you stay in shape and what is your guilty pleasure?

I eat right and work out it’s boring but it’s the only way to stay in shape. My guilty pleasure is cheese. And if I’m getting specific nacho cheese. But I literally love all cheese and my friends even call me nacho. It’s really sad. Oh and wine lots of wine!

9. Who are some of your music inspirations?
Are there any new artists that you enjoy listening to?

There are many artists that have inspired me but one in particular is Lady Gaga. She was a game changer and still is but she’s unapologetic an authentic and she pushed her way through this industry. As for there being a new artist that I’m listening to I don’t really honestly have one. Don’t invest in artist anymore so it’s hard to even know if you’re listening to someone new or old these days but I will say that Taylor Swift is killing it. Sweet little country girl who never sacrificed her morals is taking over. She’s another girl who’s unapologetic and I love it.

Dream10. Can we expect a Dream reunion sometime in the future?
